Exploring Music with Chris Kahl

May 29 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$15.00 – $50.00

In this virtual class, students will explore the connections between science and music by studying and creating musical instruments. We will learn about numerous instruments
including the guitar, harmonica, mandolin, and lap steel guitar. Students will be introduced to the musical concepts of pitch, frequency, wavelength and timbre, and then will construct instruments such as a shaker, and pan flute, and use these instruments to demonstrate their understanding of these topics. Chris Kahl, musician and teaching artist, will also teach students about Florida’s landscapes and animals through original songs.

All you’ll need is a computer, tablet or phone with the Zoom app installed to get started. Once registered, you will receive the login information for the Zoom classes.
