CARD – Teaching Self Initiation Strategies to Toddlers and Young Children
March 25 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Parents will learn strategies to improve their child’s self-initiation skills. In order for children with autism to improve their language and connect with others socially, they must be able to self-initiate. Adults will learn how to teach their children how to ask questions, comment, and make a request in order to socially interact with others and gain information about their surroundings. This presentation is based on Pivotal Response Training.
Please note that this training is appropriate for parents of children who have some verbal ability (I.e., children who can make requests for their wants and needs, but do not ask questions or comment on their environment).
