Detailed Information

Are You Ready For Relief?

Our clinical team provides comprehensive, behavioral assessment and treatment services to children and adolescents with autism and related disorders. Working together with family members and other professionals we strive to teach skills and techniques that promote positive behavior change.

We specialize in treating disruptive behavior often associated with autism, ADHD, or conduct disorder. If your child is having issues with tantrums, toileting/bed-wetting, bedtime routine, or food selectivity/refusal then you are ready for personalized assistance.

Early Intervention Services for Children with Autism

  • This involves teaching children with autism and other intellectual disabilities new skills in a one-on-one manner. This highly structured teaching format allows a clinician to teach children the skills s(he) needs to be successful in home, school, and community settings.

Assessment and Treatment of Challenging Behavior

  • Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)

This includes use of various assessment techniques, such as informal interviews and situational observations to determine why a behavior is occurring. Generally this requires repeated observation across several people and settings. If necessary, specific environmental variables are systematically manipulated using experimental techniques to determine the precise reason(s) for a behavior.

  • Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)

This involves the design and implementation of a formal treatment plan to address challenging behavior. Data are collected, graphed, and then visually interpreted by a behavior analyst.

Social Skills Training (SST)

  • These sessions are conducted in school/community settings.  Students in social skills groups tend to be older children and adolescents who engage in minimal disruptive behavior, but may have communication delays or poor social skills.

Client-Specific Parent Training

  • This involves teaching parents the best ways to work with their children. First, parents learn how to cope with the occurrence of challenging behavior. Next, parents are taught how to help their children succeed in home, school, and community settings.

Assessment of Basic Learning and Language Skill-Revised (ABLLS-r) and

Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS)

  • The ABLLS-r and AFLS are comprehensive behavioral assessments designed to determine a child’s overall level of functioning.  The primary purpose of these assessments is to identify the skills necessary to succeed in everyday life. A secondary purpose is to identify a child’s academic, self-help, and fine/gross motor skills. The assessments allow a clinician to develop individualized programming then track a child’s progress over time. After completing the assessment a written report details the child’s strengths and weaknesses in each skill area.

Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)

  • The VB-MAPP is a field-tested, data-driven tool used to assess a child’s existing verbal and related skills. The test assesses 170 measureable verbal behavior and developmental milestones across 16 different skill areas, and 3 developmental levels (0-18 months; 18-30 months, and 30-48 months). The VB-MAPP barriers assessment provides a clinician with insight into the potential obstacles (i.e., barriers) that may impede learning. The clinician then addresses these ‘barriers’ to facilitate more rapid acquisition of skills. Overall, there are 900 skills that are tracked. The VB-MAPP, ABLLS-r, and AFLS are recognized by most private insurance carriers as a “reimbursable service.”
