Children First PPEC Medical Center
This is not just care for the day… it’s care that lasts throughout your child’s growth and development!
ChildrenFirst PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) is here for you every step of the way. Our exceptional nursing, therapy and education programs are unique to ChildrenFirst. Along with nursing and PT, OT and ST, we provide a daily experience in early childhood education, centered around the developmental needs of your child.
ChildrenFirst PPEC Helps Prepare Your Child For School!
Our certified preschool teachers follow an early childhood curriculum designed to meet your child’s individual needs and is similar to a VPK program. Our early education program prepares your child for their next school setting when your child is ready for graduation from PPEC! ChildrenFirst PPEC is the only accredited PPEC in Central Florida for the education of young children. We are committed to promote high-quality, early childhood programs for all of our children and their families. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The NAEYC is a challenging accreditation program which helps parents identify high-quality preschool settings in their community. NAEYC accreditation is an outstanding rating of approval for our educational program. We invest in your child’s future by employing certified preschool teachers, who are led by a program director with a Master’s degree in Special Education. Let our team help your child achieve their fullest potential!
Inclusive by Design!
Our centers are clean and cheerful with an open design. Your child is never segregated into closed rooms. Our nurses, therapists, aides and certified preschool teachers are assigned throughout the center to provide medical care, therapy and education to our age appropriate developmental groupings. The open concept design of our centers inspires an inclusive, nurturing, interactive and collaborative healthcare and educational environment in which our children thrive!
Who Attends ChildrenFirst PPEC?
Our program cares for infants, children and teens up to 20 years old. We never turn down or discharge children based on age. We provide a wide range of clinical services, up to 12 hours daily, including oxygen management, trach care, tube feedings, apnea monitoring and vent management. We also give medications including IVs, and monitor for seizures, cardiac, respiratory and GI conditions.
Who Pays For PPEC?
Services are covered by Florida Medicaid, including Medicaid HMOs, Children’s Medical Services, and some commercial insurances.
How Do I Enroll My Child?
We obtain orders from your child’s MD, create a detailed plan of care, and obtain the insurance authorization. In most instances, children eligible for PPEC can get started with us in just a day or two!
Does ChildrenFirst Have Transportation?
All ChildrenFirst centers have reliable, comfortable buses and can transport your child from home to the center and home again. RNs, LPNs, or EMTs accompany every bus trip. No long bus trips needed when your child attends ChildrenFirst. We have 6 convenient locations to serve you!
