Seven middle and high school Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classes will be chosen to participate in BAC’s Very Special Arts Florida-Brevard County’s 5th Annual Performing Arts Showcase. The classrooms and teachers will be named at the end of August. Among the group also will be adults with disabilities from BAC.
Each classroom works with a visiting artist for eight weeks, one hour per week, to create a performance in either improv theatre, music or dance/movement which is then performed in front of a live audience on the main stage of the King Center for the Performing Arts. This year’s Showcase also includes Karen Peterson Dancers (KPD), a Miami-based dance troupe with mixed ability dancers. Karen will share her expertise with teachers and students during the week of the Showcase and perform at the event, too. This event is free.
